Orbit to Upgrade Antenna Control Systems for a Major US Scientific Agency
Netanya, Israel, June 18, 2017 – Orbit Communications Systems Ltd. (TASE: ORBI) announced today that, as part of an overall antenna control system upgrade, it has received an order for several new Antenna Control Units (ACUs) from a US-based aerospace engineering services company. The Orbit ACUs will replace similar units connected to the 13-meter and 5.5-meter antennas in the remote outposts of a major US scientific agency.
According to the US$1.2 million agreement, delivery of the ACUs is expected to be completed in 2019.
“We began retrofitting, upgrading and refurbishing remote sensing systems for this engineering services company back in 2012,” indicated Eitan Livneh, CEO of Orbit. “Since then we have completed several large projects together. We thank them for their continued trust in our technology and support.”
